Embarking on her first world tour may seem like an insurmountable undertaking, but Dua Lipa doesn’t seem to sweat the small stuff. As he prepared in Miami for the debut of the Future Nostalgia TourLipa took advantage of the Florida sun wearing a tiny crochet bikini — something she doesn’t know — in a declaration (and Travis Barker approved) pattern: checkerboard. Her barely-there swimsuit featured a retina-burning neon orange and mustard yellow check, and she finished the look with a pair of skinny sunglasses, a beaded belly chain and a bag from the Loewe cooperation Spirited Away with Studio Ghibli.

Lipa explained how excited she was to give a live performance to her fans, telling WSJ. Magazine that it was a risk to release her nostalgia for the future album during the pandemic – and to bring the concerts to fans while everyone is still grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I always have this perspective that you have to be outside your comfort zone for things to be rewarding,” she said. “So when the pandemic happened, and everyone was worried about whether we should release the album, I was just like, Fuck it, maybe that’s just what we have need. While everyone is at home, maybe this is the album we should release. It was scary, because you had no idea how long we were going to be in this pandemic. Everything was a big question mark. But I felt like we just had to do it.”
Last summer, Lipa debuted her love of crochet with a bikini that had a rainbow, marijuana leaf and daisies while lounging by the pool. And after that, she showed she could wear knitting away from the water too, when she shared an Instagram gallery that showed a crochet matching set in granny squares in contrasting colors.
