Laura Dern goes retro in a crochet dress at the 2022 Venice Film Festival – Footwear News


Laura Dern tackled the crochet trend in colorful style during the Venice Film Festival.

Arriving at Wednesday’s photocall for her latest film, “The Son,” Dern posed in a Gabriela Hearst crochet midi dress. The cap sleeve cashmere piece featured a rounded geometric pattern in shades of yellow, orange, black and brown, creating a blooming flower shape reminiscent of the 70s and 60s. and a layered anklet complete the “Jurassic Park” actress’ outfit.

Dern’s ensemble was completed with a pair of black platform pumps. The leather style featured slightly square toes, chunky soles and buckled ankle straps. A set of block heels totaling at least 3 inches tall completed the pair, giving Dern a stable height increase that added to the retro nature of her look.

However, that wasn’t Dern’s only daring fashion moment at the Festival. The actress also made waves at the event on Tuesday, taking a instagram pictured on a boat in a dark orange Bella Freud puff sleeve dress and bright blue pumps.

The 79th Venice International Film Festival previews upcoming films, with top Golden Lion awards announced as predictors of the upcoming Oscars. The 2022 ceremony, hosted by Rocio Munoz Morales, will take place from August 31 to September 31. 10, with top contenders including “Blonde”, “White Noise”, “Bones and All” and “Don’t Worry Darling”. This year’s jury will be chaired by Julianne Moore, who will be joined by Mariano Cohn, Leonardo di Costanzo, Audrey Diwan, Leila Hatami, Kazuo Ishiguro and Rodrigo Sorogoyen.
