About the workshop:

Learn the basics of crochet with the fabulous Alice Nightingale! Alice will introduce you to crochet, teach you how to hold your hook and do the basic stitches needed to make granny squares. These can be put together to create all kinds of blankets and garments (see Alice’s website for granny square cardigan inspiration). Come and try, you might just get addicted! It is also a great experience to give as a gift to your relatives or friends.

All materials will be provided, with many colors to choose from, and you will take home your very own set of granny squares and crochet hooks so you can keep tinkering at home.

Included in the workshop ticket:

  • All materials (yarn, crochet hook)
  • Your finished granny squares to keep
  • Light refreshments

What to bring:

  • A sketch or picture for inspiration, if you like!
  • If you have a particular thread you would like to use, bring it.

About the host:

Alice Nightingale graduated in Fashion Design and Technology in 2009, with a goal of creating quality clothing in small quantities. Feminine and quirky, her designs are inspired by vintage trends and local flora and fauna. Her focus on using pre-owned, vintage and locally produced fabrics means her designs are not only hand made to outlast rapid fashion cycles, but are also environmentally and socially sustainable.

Competence level: This workshop is suitable for beginners.
